Most workplace upper limb injuries don’t come from a single incident — they develop gradually through thousands of repetitions of the same movement. For desk-based workers, one of the most damaging of those movements is reaching sideways for a mouse. The Contour RollerMouse Red Wireless is designed to eliminate that movement entirely.

Like all RollerMouse devices, the Red sits directly in front of your keyboard in the space between the spacebar and your body. Your arms stay symmetrical, your shoulders stay relaxed, and cursor control happens through gentle finger movement on the rollerbar — no gripping, no lateral reach, no sustained forearm pronation. For anyone managing RSI, carpal tunnel syndrome, shoulder impingement, or neck and upper back pain related to prolonged computer use, this change in mousing posture is clinically significant.

What sets the Red apart from the Free3

The RollerMouse Red is the premium model in the current RollerMouse range and is built for users who want a more refined, desk-forward setup. Where the Free3 is designed around a low-profile form suited to slim keyboards, the Red is optimised for intense, sustained computer work across single or multiple screens.

The narrow vegan leather and memory foam wrist rest is a key differentiator — it provides genuine forearm and wrist support during mousing, not just a surface to rest on. The antibacterial surface is a practical consideration for shared workstations or clinical environments. Two wrist rest options are available — standard for small to medium hands, and Wrist Rest Plus for larger hands — both sold separately.

The rubberised, textured rollerbar provides positive grip and click feedback, and the adjustable click-force mechanism lets you dial in the resistance that suits your preference and hand strength — particularly useful for users with low grip strength or finger joint sensitivity.

For multi-monitor workstations, the Red’s ten cursor speed settings (600–2800 DPI) and wide rollerbar allow fast, fluid navigation across large screen real estate without needing to reposition the device.

Wireless operation

The wireless version connects via a 2.4 GHz USB receiver with up to three months of battery life per charge. It can also be used wired via USB-C while charging, eliminating any downtime. The wireless connection is stable and responsive — suitable for precision work without latency concerns.

Sustainability

Contour Design have used recycled materials in the production of the RollerMouse Red, making it one of the more considered choices for organisations with environmental procurement commitments.
